Anyone Have Old Ddr266 Memory For Sale

Featured Replies

it seems all the shops around her have stopped selling, i could ebay, but haven't taken this chance yet, with shipping and all.only have 256megs aboard, would like at least 600, and thats only with two slots.........thanks

An respected manufacturer/supplier is Crucial Technologies, division of Micron. (They ship worldwide.)

Details here: http://www.crucial.com/

PS - There are apparently 2 versions of DDR-266 (184 pin DIMM and 200 pin SODIMM). It might help you find surplus or used sticks, if you could identify which version is needed.

cheers

:o

Apart from the difference on pins (which I didn't even knew apart from the memory used in laptops) you can put in whatever ddr you fancy!

The rating (266/333/400) is only the maximum speed the memory is able to run.

Put a 266 stick in a 400 capable mainboard and the board will limit its speed to 266 so as not to burn/overheat the memory.

Put a 400 stick in a 266 mainboard and you'll have no problem!

Only problem might be the bios on the board not recognizing the bigger sizes...

You can even mix a 266 and a 333, the mainboard will take the lowest speed.

Basically only sdram and ddr ram are completely incompatible, reason why they have different cut-outs, so you cannot accidently put it in a wrong MB
