Nevo
Despite giving my bank plenty of warning of transferring a top up to my Thai bank account to give me 800k plus plus for the 3 month retirement renewal they manage to cock up the transfer. HSBC Thailand faxed the instruction to the wrong number. Jersey HSBC didn't receive it. I have instructed Jersey to do a swift transfer today to Bangkok but it could take 3 working days (say Bangkok) to hit my account. That means I'll be 3-4 days short of the three months. Does anyone know if this will be a problem?? I'll never do it this way again. Why can't people just do their jobs properly? camerata
Can you get a letter from HSBC Thailand stating the date of your original transfer request and that their mistake caused the delay? It might help.
ubonjoe
It's hard to give a definitive answer. About all I can say is give it try.
Lite Beer
Yep. It all depends who you see on the day.
InterestedObserver
Next time don't leave until the last minute. If you read the TV Forum often then you can't say that you haven't been warned!
happylarry
I thought it had been dropped to 2 months now anyway??? or is that only the marriage visa? HL
ubonjoe
It is 2 months for the first application. Then 3 months after that. Marriage is 2 months according to the rules. But 3 months by some rogue immigration offices rules.
Nevo
I'll have to see what happens on the day. Have all the paperwork to show that I tried. I didn't leave it until the last minute. That's the whole point !
ubonjoe
I have read of immigration giving people a 7 day extesnion when they were that close to having the money in the bank so that is an option.
