mrdome
I used to be a member of City Fitness, which closed down at the end of December and even though they said they were going to move to Empire Tower it really doesn't look like it for now. Here's what I'm looking for in a gym: * Able to sign up for two months (instead of signing a contract for a whole year) at a reasonable rate (I paid 900 p/month) * Nicely seized (not like Clark Hatch @ Thanya Plaza) * Fairly easy to get to on a bus * Friendly atmosphere Can I find something like this in BKK? I'm dyin' to get back to working out. Thanks, Guido
leftcross
don't bother with Fitness First. How about California? If you're really pushed you can do weights in Lumphini Park....
mrdome
Thanks for your reply. I once did a five day trial at California. I'm not so into their hyper-mania atmosphere and the locker room is quite small. Still, they were on my short list until I went and inquired about an off-peak rate. I got the hard sell, the price was repeatedly lowered even though I wasn't even bargaining. I felt I was told a bunch of bs ("nobody has this price, only you") . I only asked for one thing 'please give me 24 hours to think it over' and that she could/would not grant because she had to give this rate away that same evening. I hope it won't have to be grandpa's weights in the park... Edited February 5, 2005 by mrdome
leftcross
hahaha, yeah the clowns always try the BS routine. I had problems with Fitness First taking unauthorised payments from my credit card -that's why I stopped going there. I'll see you in Lumphini park then
