I Invite My Philippine Girlfriend, Can She Stay A Month Just Like Us ?

Recommended Posts

Are you extra torrential? Don't really know "just like us" is don't know your nationality. If she is in PI and plans longer than a 30 day trip (no return/onward ticket within 30 days) it is not likely she will be allowed on aircraft without a visa. Once in country she can obtain the same 15 day visa exempt entries on border crossings.

This is a forum for foreigners right. I am Dutch (and I'm proud of it :) )

Essential extra information: she wil stay just a few weeks, 3 or 4

My Gf is from PI, she got 30 days on arrival, never even looked at her return ticket, it was only for 7 days because that was cheapest and I knew she would be staying 30 + days, she did a visa run to Cambodia (overnight at casino, I went with her) and got a 60 day from Phoem Phen and we just got 30 day extension at Pattaya immigration. Simple and fast for B1900. Best investment I ever made. See my Avatar.

Thai immigration are not usually interested in seeing a Filipino's return ticket, but the airline check in counters in Manila are. I've had to purchase a ticket at the airport for my GF because they would not let her board without one. This is a Philippine regulation and has nothing to do with Thai immigration policies.

It would be better if she got a tourist visa. It is always free for her.

It depends where she gets it. A tourisa visa will cost a Filipino 1000 baht per entry in Laos (outside of the special 3 month free visa period). In Penang it was free. I'm not sure about Manila because it is very difficult for a Filipino (or anyone else for that matter) to get a tourist visa there and it's just not worth the aggravation to try.

A lot of my Filipino friends that came to Bangkok said it's hard to get on a flight to Bangkok even with a return ticket if you have no visa. Yes, they get visa exempt stamp for 30 days but at least for a time, the best way to get to Bangkok with no questions asked was to buy a return ticket plus group tour. If they ask you in Manila why you're going to Thailand you can just say you're going on the group tour. Many of them did that and then did not even take the group tour once in Bangkok, just ditched it at the airport, and proceeded to look for a job, usually teaching. So, yes she just needs a return ticket but she may be asked questions if she has no tourist visa.

Edit: Not that it's easy getting a tourist visa in Manila, either.

Hi from the city of the buffaloes. It's possible that they want to see a return ticket, not just for people from the P.I.'s. Other immigrations might make another decision, please be careful what to write. And for the Dutch guy: Do you think you're more foreigner than a girl from the P.I.'s? Time to eat more cheese man. Good luck for all.

Sisaket is not the only place with buffaloes. We have plenty here in village #6.

Immigration seldom if ever want to see a ticket. They would give an entry of 30 days even if you showed them a ticket for the next day. The airlines are the problem with not having a return ticket because they can check the rules that say that if you are refused entry they have to pay a fine and provide your transportation out of the country. They also don't care how long you stay as long as you have a ticket.

She will need a return ticket within 30 days of her arrival to board the flight.

She will get a 30 day visa exempt entry when she arrives.

That is correct. My filipina girfriend came on a number of occasions alone from Manila to see me in BKK. An equal number of times we came together from Manila. No problem whatsoever. All ASEAN countries citizens can visit any ASEAN country for 30 days if they have a return or onward ticket.

This is not quite true. There are differences among the ASEAN countries, for example, a Filipino will get 21 days in Cambodia. A Thai gets 21 days in Philippines.
