Hi first of all thanks to everyone who answered my previous threads, much appreciated. as an update my girlfriend went on 29th to put in Visa app. and all went well. So thats one less thing to worry about, just a waiting game now from what i hear, waiting/praying... hehe

I'm havin a few issues now though with my son and wondered if anyone could shed any light for me...

Basically my son was born in thailand at begininng of april, he has a thai birth certificate naming me as the father and we have some translations... I'm lookin to get him a British passport, as I think he would need a visa too to come to england on a thai passport (Which he doesnt have yet either btw) wouldn't he?

So ive been on the embassy website, followed 7by7's link about registering the birth but the trouble i have is, as i'm now in england, I can;t get my passport out there for the applicaiton. It says on website they need either the childs british style birth certificate (which frankly at the moment we cant afford) or all the documents required to get a british style birth certificate, which i think off the top of my head is: both our passports + copies, his thai BC + translation + copies and her divorce certificate + translation + copies. Oh and both our birth certificates + copies.

My girlfriend has all that in thailand ready to apply, except my passport which i obviously needed to get home, however she does have many photocopies of it, but i guess they are no good.

So i guess my questions are :

Does he need a visa to come to england if he just has a thai passport?

is there any way to get a passport for him without my passport?

if not, can anyone recommend a way to send it to thailand safely? (i sent some thing before that didnt arrive in the post, i think maybe the english spelling of her address might be wrong)

Sorry if i'm coming off as everyone's slightly dim brother, who needs help with everything, but I just end up running round in circles on these gov. websites not actually getting any definate answers. So any info/advice/links wouuld be much appreciated...
