May 5, 200917 yr Dear all Quick question, my my wife and I are both English and we are both 40 years old. We brought an apartment in Phuket. We have both given up our jobs in the UK and plan to travel the world from Aug 09. We want to spend as much time as possible in Phuket. So what visa can we get that allows the longest or easiest stay without to many hassles. We are happy to pop in and out of the country as and when required and I would like to get our first visa in place before we leave the UK. Thanks in anticipation.
May 5, 200917 yr Suggest you get multipe entry non immigrant O visas. This would allow you to leave and enter as many times as you wish and get a 90 day stay every entry for one year. If you were to make an entry just before it expires you would get another 90 days giving you a total of about 15 months without getting another visa. You can get this visa at the consulate in Hull to visit friends. Link to website: http://www.thaiconsul-uk.com/
May 5, 200917 yr Author Brilliant, thanks for that. One more question, after that 12 or 15 month period do I have to wait for a certain period of time before applying for a new visa? And can that be done in Thailand? Once again thanks
May 5, 200917 yr No you don't have to wait to get another visa. You will not be able to get a visa here. The nearest consulate that will issue a visa for the same reason is in Perth. You can get 2 entry tourist visas at some nearby conulates. That with 30 day extensions of each 60 day entry plus leaving one time to use the 2nd entry would give you about 6 months without getting a new visa.
May 5, 200917 yr Yep . You are lucky that you are in the UK. One of the few paces that issue that Visa with no problems.
