Business Plan For Internet Cafe Business

Recommended Posts

My wife and her family are convinced we should open an internet cafe when we move to a small village next month. I can't imagine that being a good investment but have decided to make a quick business plan to prove it to them. Apart from other issues such as work permits, etc. I can't see this being anything but a gigantic can of worms, not to mention being a black hole of money anti-matter.

Nonetheless, does anybody have any business plan performance data to consider?

Just because I am a career computer guy they the family thinks I am a latent gold mine. How wrong they are !! :)

Just say no... Why are you going to loose energy to proof something you don't believe in it?

Never waste time solving a problem you can eliminate.

Your feelings about this business seem accurate to me - you'd have to work long hours for a tiny profit. I would try to tell the relatives something along the line 'you IT-specialist working in the village's internet shop is about the same as Bocuse (insert name of famous Thai cook) cooking in the local noodle stall'.

Just tell them that you cannot do it without a work permit and you would be arrested. You would need a work permit even if you only used your knowledge to give advice.

If it's in a village can you even get an internet connection good enough for multiple users. Bear in mind that the customers are more likely to be gamers.

Ask them to write down their business plan for your consideration.

How about the following?

- pay one year's rent in advance, in a small village, maybe 30,000 Baht max.

- buy 10 cheap computer systems, 120,000 Baht.

- pay the internet fee for a year, 10,000 Baht.

- tables & chairs, 10,000 Baht.

Add on 30,000 for the rest making 200,000 Baht.

Give 'em that in cash and see if they want to invest it and then run the business, and leave you in peace.

:):D :D
