How To Deal With Work Permits In The Case Of Changing Job

Featured Replies

HI,

Nationality:CHINA

The work permit of old company will expire on Nov this year, and now I want to change job in THAIAND. How should I do if I do not go back china and apply a new Non-B Visa.

Could someone tell me the sequence of procedure of how to cancel the old work permit and apply the new one, and extend visa in the proper time, to avoid the possibility of applying a New Non-B visa in the case of time limitation. I heared that after cancelling the old work permit, there is only 7 day to do the following stuff.

Does someone have any guide?

Thx a lot.:)

What kind of permission to stay are you on now. Do you have a valid multiple non-B and do you leave the country every 90 days, or do you have an extension of stay from immigration?

In the last case your permission to stay ends the day your old job ends. However you could apply for an extension of 7 days, in which you would have to organise your new work permit. So you better have your new employer start the application proces before the old job ends.

If you can't make it in time, you don't have to go all the way back to China but could get a new non-B from a neighbouring country.

I have Non-B visa and Work permit now.

So it is better after the new company finished all documents for applying the new work permit, then inform the old company to cancel the old work permit in the labor Dept.

then with the permission of work permit to extend visa fro one more month, then make a new work permit, and finally extend visa again.

ok, I got it. thx.....
