Just Missed 90 Days Reporting

Featured Replies

I suppossed report 90 days on last Friday 22-May-2009. I had fever and cold. So I just missed. Next following days are weekend. I have to report on Monday. I missed technically 3 days. Do I still have to pay penalties? what will be the possible solution? if I do not do 90 days reporting, does it make difficulties when I extend 1 year VISA next July 2009?

Any forum friend can advise, please.

You are still ok. You can report 7 days before or after your report date.

You have a 7 day window on each side of the day you have to make your report. During that time you can make your report without being fined. Note that at most immigration offices you can also do your 90 day report by mail.

This might be a good opportunity to tag on a query i have (hope you dont mind sakib).

An elderly friend I have is in his 70's and has difficulty walking. He doesnt trust the 90 day reporting via post, but its really quite a challenge for him to get around the immigration area even with assistance. Its only going to get worse. I wonder if it may be possible for him to have the form they use for the postal reporting, but have someone deliver it by hand to Immigration?

I realise I can go there and inquire about this directly, and I will do, but thought id put the question here as some may have thought of this/have experience of it.

Tnx.

Someone can report on his behalf.

Yes. He should fill out the normal form and give that and passport to the person and a short note with his signature that they are making his report for him - the note might not be required but better safe than an extra trip.

Great news! Thanks so much. :)

I appreciate all. Thanks a lot.

Sometime it depends on the imm. officer, how they will consider (EEK case).

There should not be any question - the immigration act allows both in person and letter notice and says that the director general can set the policy.

The Immigration policy as outlined on web site is:

The foreigner makes the notification in person, or

The foreigner authorises another person to make the notification, or

The foreigner makes the notification by registered mail.
