Health Care Benefits?

Recommended Posts

A friend's husband (he's Turkish and so is she), works in a travel agency, he has a work permit, pays tax and says he is provided with a list of hospitals at which he can get free or cheap hospital care because he contributes to SS fund.

At our school we pay taxes and presumably have the same benefits. Is it true that paying taxes mean we contribute to the SS fund, and as foreigners do we have the same health entitlements?

Thanking anyone in advance.

No paying tax is not a contribution to the SS fund. Social Security is a separate levy 5% paid by employer and 5% by employee (on the first, I think, the first 15,000 per month of income). Should be shown separately on our pay slip
