T O T Line High Speed Internet 2 Mbps

Featured Replies

Would like to get some infos about TOT High Speed Internet 2 Mbps.

How good is that connection in real life. What real speed you guy's getting? Download and Upload?

I asking for BKK and Samut Prakarn Area only.

Thanks for all answers.

Found it a total pain.

1. Speedtests from US/Europe down 0.8mbps 0.5mbps

2. Stuttering and slow buffering streaming video from Youtube etc.

3. Slow downloading in general. only way to achieve 2.0mbps was to use 10 connections to a usenetserver.

if u can afford it go with CSLOXINFO SME package. I get 3.3-3.8mbps international download speed 24 hours a day with that service and static IP with no bandwidth shaping or throttling. Not cheap mind u.

TOT 2mb will be fine if you only use Thailand services/torrents etc.

I wouldn't go with CS-L because I had a court case about IP-Star with them which I had won but that would maybe have an effect on their "Service" again. They know me to well!!

As I need 2 lines with Internet, one would be ok from TOT but the other I may will use with MaxNet or similar. I'll have app. a week for to check out which ISP would be ok for that.

Any Suggestion and info about 3. Party ISP's running on TOT lines are welcome.

Thanks.

Reimar, can you get Maxnet in Bangkok now? They normally only run on TT&T lines, which you don't have in Bkk.

I heard and read that Maxnet would be marketed as Triple T Broadband in Bangkok, and run on 3th party phone lines.

EDIT

Just found their website, and it look like they work the same as CAT, meaning they will pull a phone line to your house, but it will be dedicated ADSL, no phone service!

And it looks like Samut Prakan is serviced!

Do a little prayer and hope they have a DSLAM close by your place, then get a Premier 2M/1M line. You'll be pretty happy with it at 1090 Baht +VAT.

For whatever it is worth, I am in Bangkok (near the new airport) and I just updgraded on TOT to 2 mbps today. Using speetest.adslthailand.com, the speed in the middle of the day is 1729 download and 374 upload.

If my CSLox ADSL basic home package is on always through a TOT phone line and it costs me 738THB/m for a 256/512kbs service, should I switch to TOT which now advertises at 2mbs at 590THB? I haven't seen any new high bandwidth adverts coming out of CSLox since I joined them several years ago.

With figures like this surely there is a catch so is TOT giving false advertising or does CSLox have its head up its arse? I understand a change of ISP's would take several days so I'd appreciate any experiences?

I would stick with CSLoxinfo - they offer many highspeed options TOT lines can only have upto 4mb tho.

See there website for promotions or call them.

I am on 4mb SME with CSLox - really good but really expensive.

You kinda burnt your bridges there then.. I'm running a CSlox SME connection for the primary connection, and a True home connection for the backup. :)

CSLox are probably the best for SME packages, but their home service absolutely stinks...

Has anyone used these Maxnet lines yet?

What is the difference between SME and home packages other than price? Why is SME so much better ?

I am also waiting to here about this. As I could get the 6mb Maxnet premier for the same price as I am paying for 4mb SME with CSLOX....hmmm.

No Throttling, No Port Blocking, Static IP, Dedicated International Bandwidth seperate from home users.

I was on the home package (4mb) for 24 hours to test it 0.9mb max on international - changed to SME (4mb) the next morning and its been between 3.2mb and 3.7mb international. Thats the difference really.

According to the speech of an MaxNet engineer, the sharing ratio for Premier is 1:10! CS-L has for SME 1:20 like True!

No!

Maybe. However rest assured a CSLox SME is NOTHING like a true connection.

No Static IP on Maxnet is almost a deal breaker for me.

My NON-SME TRUE connection 4 Mbps/512 kbs seems as same good as your CS-L SME connection and cost THB 1,230.00 a month. Min. connection down 3.6 Mbps and up 450 kbps! I download with app. 420 KByte/s

Unfortunate in the area of my new house isn't TRUE and that's why I was asking for the infos. At the same moment I move to the new house, which will be in 2-3 month I'll loose the TRUE connection which I had used over 10 years without problems! While the IP-Star of CS-L, which I had to first at the new house was reliable 2 weeks and that was it! Maybe because you've 10 days for a full return complaint?! And since than CS-L is out of any questions for me. A company which sells an non-existing service for a lot money and even didn't deliver just 10% of that service is what?

Read my old post's nearly 3 years back and you get all the details of that company include the Title I was getting against CS-L from the Court.

Cheers.

Strange then Reimar. You must be one of the lucky few as most are complaining that international speed on any of TRUE's home packages are terrible.

Especially after 4pm. For Example my brothers 3mb TRUE daytime is average at 1.0-1.4mbps but after 4pm until midnight its around 0.45mbps. I really find it hard to believe that your international true 4mb is as good as you say considering what I see on friends/brothers true service and the complaints on here ref true also.

Your TRUE seems excellent in fact more than excellent for the price.

I'll probably phone maxnet next week and get them to install a line to my condo if they can and run both CSLOXINFO SME and MAXNET PREMIER side by side for awhile.

IP-Star satellite internet is always going to be bad. I was a beta tester for British Telecom's satellite broadband service then a user and admin for netsystem satellite broadband service forum. Both of which offered about 20-30% of advertised performance - so its not just down to CSLOX. Its the technology in itself.
