Renewing My Retirement Visa 3 Months Before Expire Date

Featured Replies

I am planning to renew my Retirement Visa just 3 Months before it expires,

because I have to go back to Europe for an undetermined Time..

If I do so, will I get 15 Months ( 12 Months + 3 Months from Date now ) or only 12 Months?

Thanks in Advance for any Answer

Cheers

If immigration lets you extend it that early it will be for one year from your current permit to stay date.

It in Pattaya it won't be a problem to extend that early. You will have to check with your assigned immigration office to know if they will do it or not.

Note: It is an extension of stay based upon retirement not a visa.

I don't think you can renew more than one month early so better check that out with immigration.

You can in Pattaya, 3 months early is welcome, no excuse needed.

People should consider stating their immigration office when making queries about office policies.

As usual in Thailand, it depends on who you ask at Immigration and when you ask. I went to Jomtien Immigration about five months ago and asked if I could renew early since I wanted to go to America for a few months, over-lapping my 22 June renewal date. I was told 30 days early was the max and so I am still here and going in on 11 June to do the dirty deed. A couple of earlier posters indicate 60 or 90 days early is no problem in Pattaya.

The announcement to encourage early applications was made late last year, if I recall correctly. So maybe you got there before the change was fully in effect, or maybe you asked the wrong person?
