johnlexo
Can anybody recommend a doctor or hospital that can remove a hemorrhoid - any idea of the cost involved in doing this? this is one of the rare times i recommend bangkok pattaya hospital. there is a hem. specialist up there, really nice man. fluent english, funny and competent. i think they call him dr. hem. sorry can't recall the name. a friend had surgery with him. price in total came down from 85k. to 60 k. for some serious hems. and 2 days in private room. good luck. if you want it cheaper go to queen sirikit naval hopsital. very good service, cost probably about 1/3 from bph. good luck. pattaya_girl
A couple of years ago, I had an Ear infection, and went stone deaf. My Thai partner took me to the Banglamung Hospital, They sorted it out in 30 minutes and the treatment and service I got on this occasion was as good as if i had gone to a more expensive hospital. Maybe worth you going to enquire, it might save you a lot of money. good luck.

farangpattaya
Did suffer from them about 5 years ago. Went to see a local clinique first, but the doctor told me to go to BKK-Hospital-PTT. They should be able to laser them!! Went there and the doctor was talking about a 'trombosis of the outher sphincter' (that's what a hem seems to be). Some cream, painkillers, other tablets and 5 days and my problem was solved. THB 1,850. About one time per year I feel that a hem is trying to set up, but i use the cream for 2 days and problem solved. Probably my hem was of minor size, it depends. Thank you for this recommondation - took my wife there saturday for a consultation - the doctor gave us an estimate of 31,000 bhat for the surgery and 2 nights in the hospital - the doctor spoke english so i was comfortable as he answered all of our questions - she had the surgery that afternoon and was released from the hospital on Monday - the bill? just a little over 26,000 baht - Hospital professional with lots of staff and would recommend to anyone as a cheaper alternative to bangkok Pattaya Hospital - worth the 30 minute drive

At least I bet the 30 minute drive was more comfortable on the way home! Incidentally, I have been told by several doctors previously that a warm bath (every night for 5 days) containing lots of salt is as good as anything.
