Renewal Non- Immigrant 12 Months Category F Visa

Featured Replies

Hello,

My daughter and I arrived in Thailand with a 12 months multiple entry visa Category F. Validity 30 October 2009, meaning Last entry into Thailand before that date and up to maximum 28 January 2010.

I need to renew this visa. and get another 12 months multiple entry. ( i dont really care going out of the country or not...) so jsut the same visa is plenty enough.

My daughter is going to school here (she is 6 years old)

Which is the best fatest and no worries process to get the same visa end of this year.

1) she is going to school so her school can certify that, she can get the Visa and I can get it also but where to apply and how to apply and can We have the same multiple entry for 12 months.

2) Which other ways to get a One year Visa for thailand.

I am not working, not married, not 50 years old. Living on my own money.

If easier to get outside of the country BUT NOT HOME COUNTRY, please say where in the region the Embassy to issue the visa... SIngapore? PD Lao? Vietnam? Malaysia? Indonesia?

thank you

You should get a 12 month extension from Immigration if you have 500,000 Baht in a Thai bank.

She can can get the extension as she is a student.

See here 2.8 2.9 for her. 2.11 for you.

The F category is normaly for diplomats and employees of international organisations like the UN and ASEAN. The organisation should be able to get you an extension.

if not, then the extension of stay for your child and you as a dependend would be best. No need to leave the country, just apply at the immigration ofice of your area.

Hello

Do I really need to open a Bank account??? Is there a way to get over that... like showing rental agreementandpayments amde and bank statements or bank certificate .. i rather not multiply administrative procedures/ and please telll me if school documents have to be translated into Thai or i f english is Ok??

thanks

You can only do it by depositing money in a Thai bank account.

Documents from school can be in english. But the school will know what is needed and may write them in Thai anyway.

The money is not needed for you daughters extension.

If you don't want to put the money in the bank you could get a multiple entry non-o visa in KL or Penang. You would then have to leave and re-enter the country every 90 days.

You would need her birth certificate and a copy her passport photo page and the extension stamp page for her extension.

They may also want you to show some documentation showing your financial means to support her.
