Hoping someone might know of an Orchid farm / specialist in or around Chiang Mai. Big variety at wholesale prices :)

JJ Market / Khamtieng area doesn't really have what I'm looking for!

Any suggestions ?

Thanks in advance ( hopefully )

I can't be much help other than to suggest a visit to the Royal flower show museum out near the Night Safari area. Maybe someone there could point you in the right direction. Last time I visited they had a great selection of orchids. If nothing else you will have spent a couple of entertaining hours studying all the varieties. I am assuming you want live orchids you could plant yourself.

Didn't realise their was a museum there! :) In fact I didn't think much was there at all these days.. I'll have a look, or was your post just an excuse to upload some photo's? At least they are relevant to the post which makes a refreshing change. ( secretly I prefer your fish photo's )

The Mae Jo thing is in December right?

Any other suggestions greatly appreciated. :D

I had a friend in town who was looking to make a large wholesale orchid purchase. I took him to Siam Orchid in Doi Saket, it was a big operation and been there for a long time. The owner seems very nice. Might want to give them a try:

Museum was probably the wrong term, although there were some very old varieties when I was there last. I should have used the term "exhibit" instead.

I only post photos to liven up a topic and bring it back to the top of the page where more people might see it. Once a topic goes to page 2 a lot of people don't see or respond to it.

Were you asking for a large "SIZE" orchid, or many varieties of orchids? Orchids, as you probably know, need a host, and each species requires a very specific environment.

I hope others have provided you with enough information to find what you want.
