June 16, 200917 yr My wife and are leaving Thailand early next year My 1 year retirement extention is up next month and the required funds will not be available. I'm going to need to extend my stay by about 5/6 months. What is the best way to do this? My wife suggests overstay. I'm not sure if the move is permanent. Is there a problem getting back into Thailand after an overstay? Are you blacklisted? Regards.

This would give you 6 months with 2 extensions from Immigration and a border run in the middle.
June 16, 200917 yr Author Is there a thread on here that points out exactly how to go about this? Presumably the Thai Consulate in Vientienne. What documents will be needed etc. Thank you. Regards.

This will tell you everything you want to know, and then some. I would recommend starting on page 46 and working your back. http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Vientiane-La...sa-t158561.html For a Tourist Visa, there was no Paperwork to speak of, just a couple of photos and the application form. Also, getting a visa to get into Laos is easy. Edited June 16, 200917 yr by beechguy
