I just heard that the govt is planning to start the baht system again for nepalese and burmese maids here again since next month , i have a young lady working with me part time and i would like to get her a work permit under my hubby's name

I would like to know what all documents are needed to get it done ..and is it a tuff process , do u need agents for it or can it be done by self ?

In the first place she will need to be here with a non-immigrant visa. Only then can she get a work permit.

no she won't.

Cambodians, Laoations and Burmese have a special programme just for them.

There are special provisions that allow Thai's or people with residence in Thailand (eg foreigners with work permits) to get an 'allocation' for foreign workers to work for them. They then get an ID and permission to work and stay in Thailand for that employer.

I have one allocation for a burmese maid, who works for us. The Labour department allocates it to you at your local labour office.

Allocations open up once a year (july will be the next one according to the reports).

best get a lawyer to handle it.

You need your ID card and house registration I believe.
