What Happens When Your Passport Expires?

Featured Replies

Hello,

I am British, 60 years old, and have been here on a Retirement Visa for 4 years; this is due for renewal before the 15th of July.

My passport has about 4 clean pages left on it, and will certainly be full within 3 months.

Are there any issues I should be aware of if I go ahead and renew the retirement visa using TM7 next week, and then get my passport replaced in September - will it be a simple issue to transfer the detail to my new passport, or will I have to go through the whole 'O' Visa Application process again?

Hoping someone can help,

Stephen

If you get your extension next month with your current passport it will only be for the time left on your passport.

When you get your new passport you will have to go to immigration and they will transfer over your stamps and give you the remainder of your extension.

You still have time to get a new passport before your extension runs out. It only takes 10 days to get one.

See this webpage on the embassy website: http://ukinthailand.fco.gov.uk/en/passport...ing-in-thailand

Then when you do your exentsion take both passports with you and they will do everything at one time.
