Hi can anyone help me here, i am going back to the uk in october for 2 months and will get a new cat b visa while there,the thing is my work permit will run out while i am in the uk,can it be renewed when i get back with my new visa or will it be too late and then have to get a new work permit all over again i hope not,can it be stopped for 2 months while in uk then start again when i come back,thanks in advance.

I think that you have to start all over again. To renew a WP you MUST apply before the day of expiering!

You could try getting your work permit renewed before you leave. Since work permits are no longer tied to your permit to stay they might give you one good for a year.

If not then it means applying for a new one when you come back.

You can suspend your WP when you are away. You need to show proof of what date you come back to the country. I did this last year when I went back to my home country.

do i need to show proof before i go or when i come back,so i would have to show a plane ticket of when i was coming back to thailand?is that correct,thanks.
