Three Injured As Pick-up Slams Into Rear Of Stationary Coach

Featured Replies

In the early hours of Sunday Morning, Police Lieutenant Colonel Anuchaert from Dongtan Police Sub-Station located on Jomtien Beach was called to the Sukumvit Road close to the Underwater World Park in Jomtien to deal with an accident which had just occurred involving a coach and a pick-up. Reports of persons trapped were received and all available rescue units were also sent to the scene. The pick-up which contained three people had slammed into the rear of a stationary coach which normally transports passengers from Jomtien to Bangkok. A strong smell of whisky was evident inside the pick-up but the initial concern was to extricate the two injured passengers and driver without causing them further injury. The two passengers were removed quickly, however the driver was trapped and it took rescue workers more than 30 minutes to remove him from the pick-up. Luckily the injuries were relatively minor despite the high speed impact and it was clear the two passengers were very drunk, however Police are unsure if the driver was drunk or had just fallen asleep at the wheel. Further tests on the driver are ongoing at the time before Police take the case any further
