Hi guys,

I tried real hard to get some fibre-glass to patch some holes in my jallopy on Thursday. I ended up with plastic padding. Anyone know how to say fibre-glass with reference to automotive repair?

Cheers

I think ใยแก้ว works - it does score a fair number of Google hits (378,000).

This company uses ใยแก้ว in their Thai product descriptions, I guess they should know:

Did you try the English word, and tried to 'Thai-ify' the pronunciation a little? I found quite a few references to ไฟเบอร์กลาส too, which is 'fibre-glass' with Thai spelling.

my husband buys this stuff to patch his little dinghy regularly. It consists of the fiberglass material and some clear liquid too. If you dont' get any results here, let me know and I will ask him to let me know what its all called in thai.

As an FYI, he buys it at our local small hardware store

Cheers guys - I did try Thinglish, but got blank looks. My mrs knows the English word, but not the Thai strangely. I'll try Yai Geow.

..and thanks for the offer SBK.

Cheers.

no worries, just PM me if you can't get it. My husband is the same btw,. Lots of words he knows in English but doesn't always know the Thai :D

This one, however, he does know :)

still need thai words for fiberglass/ polyester resin /epoxy and hardener? if so send me your email. i work in composites and can have my thai assistant give you all the translated words you need. most of my workers know them all by the "english" name (is that what is meant by "thinglish"?)

im new to forums so forgive me if i miss something.
