Decent Hotels In Kl Near Thai Consulate?

Featured Replies

Hello everyone

For those of you who have been to KL on Visa runs, can anyone recommend a hotel or guesthouse in the same area as the Thai Consulate?

I'm hoping to spend 1000 THB or less per night, in a place that's clean but Spartan. Is that possible?

Thanks for your help!

Regards,

Michael

My understanding is that there are not many near the embassy.

You can look through the various topics about KL that are listed in this topic about getting visas in the region,

http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Latest-Repor...on-t189375.html

You don't need to stay around that area staying in Chinatown is a good option theres a Rapid rail link from Pensar Seri station in Chinatown to Ampang Park station ten minutes walk from the embassy, same side as the shopping centre with Mcdonalds continue over the cross roads and the embassys no more than a ten minute walk costs around 1.7 Ringett for the ride.

Hotels in Petaling St lots for under 1,000 baht try Chinatown Hotel around 750 baht per night but watch out for Chinatown 2 Hotel nice'n'clean but paperthin walls and you can't switch the air con off.

Ordinary taxis are also cheap, so transport to the embassy shouldn't be much of an issue.

Embassy area starts at 2200 baht.

In Chinatown it starts at 700 baht incl aircon, and the Rapid rail train from Chinatown (Pasar Seni) to Embassy area (Ampang Park) is 16 baht each way, 10-12 minutes.

have a look at latestays.com, but the Chinatown hotels are cheaper when payed directly to hotel at check in. They charge extra for creditcard though.

Have a nice trip

Tune hotels, just a short ride away. You pay for what you need.

Thanks, it's looking like Chinatown then, and without pre-booking - but not Chinatown 2.
