O-a Vsa Re-entry Permit

Featured Replies

I am currently on a multiple entry O-A visa which expires on 4 Nov 2009

I will be re entering Thailand on 27 july 2009 which will give me a permission to stay till Jul 2010

I will want to leave thailand for a month in dec 2009

can I get a re-entry permit to do this as my permision to stay will be till jun 2010 or do I have to complete the formalities for an extension before the visa itself expires?

If I can I presume i would have to commence getting my first extension one month before jun 2010 Is this correct

You should think about doing a border run just before Nov. 4th and get another one year entry.

After Nov. 4th you will need to get a re-ntry permit at immigration. Multiple re-entry 3800 baht valid for the length of your permit to stay. Or a single re-entry 1000 baht also good for the length of your permit to stay or until you use it.

You won't have to get an extension of stay until one year after the last entry you make using your visa. You should apply for the extension within the last 30 days of your permit to stay.

You don't have to do the extension of stay first, you can just get a re-entry permit and ask for an extension of stay in june 2010.

Don't forget the tip of Ubonjoe, a simple hop over the border before november 4 gives you almost a half year extra.
