February 23, 200521 yr Davethailand correct. Elsewhere New Year 13th-15th but Pattaya's main celebration is on 19th. Lots of people living in Pattaya go up country to their parents homes for the New Year. Come back on 17th or 18th for the mayhem.Normally takes 4hours to drive 2 miles!
February 25, 200521 yr You will want to avoid Songkran in Pattaya. Personally i LOVE Songkran (and I'm a minority here) but Pattaya is just horrid for this. Go North, or North East. Cheers, Chanchao
