I am paying 3,000 Baht a month for TT&T's Maxnet Premier 3Mbps. It is supposedly shared between only 10 people. So why nearly every night does my international speed drop to less than 0.4Mbps? Is every other person online right now and downloading right now? Somehow I don't think so. In the morning the speed is great. Prime time and it is a joke. 3,000 Baht for 0.34Mbps???? Come on.

Is there anyone at TT&T who actually cares and can do something to resolve the problem? Do you have an email address for this person?

I have the same problem in Rayong, TT&T have big problem whit the DNS server, but if you type in 156.154.70.1, and 156.154.71.1 as DNS in your computer it works much better.

It is a free service and make it much faster than you have today.

Good luck

I just moved from a condo where I had TOT's 1MBS for 1200 Baht/month and it was actually pretty good.

Got to new location and decided to go with TT&T as I was told they were much better as they were a private company.

Got the "We will be there tomorrow, we will call you back (they don't call and then turn off their phone), can't tell you what time we will be there (just sit around and wait for us to NOT show up) multiple times.

Finally got hooked up 4 days later then when the initially said I would be up.

Went with the 5MB as it was the same price as the 1MB I had before. It was total crap.

Complained and was told that the Premier package was better because of the "10 person" thing.

It is still not as good as the TOT 1MB. Will give it a few more days, and then may cancel and go back.

My neighbor signed up and paid TT&T two weeks ago….she still does not have a connection.

Sorry, but I have not found anyone with TT&T that even pretends to care.

I see no picture on my answer, how you do that?

Make sure that you also do a speedtest to the Bangkok server.

If Bkk goes slow as well, you most likely have phone line problems. If speeds to Bkk remain good, it's a Maxnet problem and you should bugger them as much as you can about it.

I had Maxnet Premier for more than a year. When it worked it was OK, but when it (frequently) didn't, it was rubbish and support was hopeless.

I have recently changed to J-Net. 2,700 baht a month for their NetCafe package, which sounds a lot for a 2MB connection; but it runs faster than the supposed 5MB connection I had with Maxnet. And it is more reliable. They say it is optimised for international connections and there is no throttling of torrents.

But it does go down occasionally, usually evenings and weekends, and the problem seems to be with the line (still provided by TT&T). But the support level I now receive is massively different from Maxnet. You deal with an English speaking support staff who seems to know what they are talking about and actually seems to care. They will spend a long time on the phone with you discussing the problem. If they can fix it, they do. In some cases it is TT&T problem and they tell me they will chase TT&T to fix it. They then follow up with an SMS or a phone call to tell me what they are doing and will later call me back to check my connection is working.

For example, it went down last night about 2200. I called the help desk (24/7 service) and it was a line problem. They called me back after 30 minutes and told me they had contacted TT&T to clear it. I went to bed and this morning it was OK. At 0930 J-Net called me to ask if I was happy with the connection now. Amazing service compared to Maxnet.

I'm aware of the definition of TIF. However, embedded in this case is in reference to embedding an image in HTML code as on a web page or forum. In the forum case, meta tags are used then converted by the board software to HTML. In the context above, embedded is correct.

It converts

<img>foo.jpg</img> to <img src="foo.jpg" />

How come 3000 baht? They just upgraded my premier to from 2mb to 3mb, and I pay 1000 a month. By switching to OpenDNS servers, most of the problems have vanished.

They've been having issues as others have said and this post talks about. Follow the DNS changes they recommend and see how it goes. I'm paying 1,000b for 4MB indy and it changed to 5MB last week after I complained. No problems now. Downloaded 7gb last night.

Also, are you using the ADSL router that they gave you? Mine had some strange issues when I first got TTT. As soon as I setup my own, it worked great.

Sorry can you elaborate on what you mean by switching DNS to 156.154.70.1, and 156.154.71.1? Where do I do this and what is the effect?

Hi ChiangMaiThai,

Thanks. My internet connection stopped on Friday afternoon and I new it had something to do with the data entered in my router. I had previously been using OpenDSN with good results, but since Friday no web pages would load. Just know I used the DNSs you provided and everything is back to normal again. Thanks again for your info.

Best guess is they're throttling your connection at night to bring up the masses on the cheapos (in the probability that you're are asleep and won't notice slower downloads). Best bet is to constantly get up them about it and be awkward on the line in the hope of being transfered to 2nd or even 3rd line support.

Regards caring, they don't.
