Visiting Pai

Featured Replies

We're finally getting around to making a trip up to Pai (from Bangkok) next week but now my wife is thinking going during the rainy season might not be a good idea. Any traveled that way during the rainy season? We will also spend a few days in Chaiang Mai.

It will be fine, roads may be a little rough, pot holes etc. But far better than the dry dusty times. Always pleasant to visit and if you don't like CM is not far. Have a good time.

Pai 10 - 15 years ago was a great place to visit, quiet, clean - not too sure about now, from what I hear over populated with tourists. However, would love some feed back if you do visit as I have had thoughts of maybe re-visiting again soon.

Came back from Pai this Wednesday after a 4 days visit there. Been rainy, same as in CM, quite a few western tourists, mostly young couples. Normally Pai has more Thai tourists than farangs, this time I found it to be about 50/50.

For sure far from being overrun by tourists. Bebop, Ting Tong and other entertainment places being well visited.

Don't worry about the road situation, conditions been perfect.

For myself and my family it is a great place to get away from CM. It is the most relaxed place I know of, at least when taken into consideration that there are plenty of the ameneties available.

Staying in Pai I feel like in another country, we stay out of "town" and just go there to have dinner and to music places.

Enjoy!

Thanks for the reply. Where did you stay? Have checked a few places on the internet. Rim Pai Cottage, Baan Krating Pai, Hut Ing Pai Resort, Pai Hotspring Spa Resort.
