Mario2008 or Ubonjoe, many thanks as you have helped me before (I was the guy who "got away" with zero fine after 8 month overstay).

I still cannot get my head fully around the many rules and regs, but my trip to Penang resulted in a non-O multiple entry (M) visa. Do I still have to report to SSPhlu for a re-entry from Thailand or just go to Swampi with no problem, and a guarantee of getting back in with my M status (until 21 April 2010) still valid?

You have a Multi Entry Visa. A Re Entry Permit is not needed. Every time to enter Thailand you will get 90 days.

Do a border run on 20th April or before and you will get another 90 days giving a total of 15 months.
