July 18, 200916 yr Trip to Immigration for 1 yr extension for Thai dependent [daughter] Interested in comments about my experience and hope it may help someone with similar situation. The requirements listed for a Thai dependent extension to a Non Imm O are very short, much shorter and easier than for Thai wife. No financial requirements were needed the last two years by me except for a bank letter showing a real account existed. Not so this year. The lady listed all sorts of shortcomings on my application. She made me come back another day with the following ... # = needed last year # 1/ TM7 Form for extension of stay w photo # 2/ Birth Certificate of daughter Alyssa [copy of Thai passport picture page] # 3/ Passport pages 1, 14, 16, 22 4/ Proof of 400KBaht or equivalent income 5/ Embassy letter verifying pension income 6/ Bank Book pages 1, 7, 8 # 7/ Letter from Bank verifying funds 8/ Marriage Certificate Copy 9/ House book pages for daughter plus 1st page 10/ 2 Pictures of family at home 11/ Copy of Wife ID card So even though she had many of these things in the thick file [been here almost 6 years now and married for 5 yrs] she made me redo many of them. Also she told me that a 400,000B account [or equivalent income] was now required. New rule ? So I did all this and returned two days later. On the first day there were 18 people ahead of my number. I expected a multihour wait but I got called in less than an hour with 5 agents working. But on my return trip, 24 were ahead of me with 5 agents working and after 2 hours waiting, only 5 people had been processed and the agents then left for lunch. That is one application completed per 2 hours per agent. I left to return another day. Grrrrrrrrrrrr Edited July 18, 200916 yr by paulfr
