90 Day Non Imm "o" From Kl Malaysia

Featured Replies

Will i get a 90 day non imm type "O" from the KL embassy, without to much drama. Aust passport, currently living in Chaing Mai, and need to renew. Thanks

What is the reason for a non-O? If it is visiting friends, forget it.

If you have a Thai Spouse it is possible.

I have no 'reason" I just live here :) ...If i need to provide a reason i might have to ask for a tourist visa. The Thai embassy in Aust let me have a 2 entry type"O",,no questions asked.

That is very strange as do not believe the Embassy would issue such a visa. Are you sure it is a non immigrant O visa valid for two entries; and issued by the Royal Thai Embassy Canberra?

The visa was provided by the Thai consulate in Melbourne, big stamp, not a sticker "catergory "O", Non Imm visa clearly marked.

Now I am confused, again, what will KL give me?

When you say living in Chiang Mai do you have a condo in your name or some such thing? Non immigrtant visas are not issued without a reason - and so far you have not provided any. The issue of a two entry non immigrant visa is also highly unusual (but has happened a few times). What did you apply for and what did you put for a reason? You must have put something or a visa could not have been issued. What did you provide the Consulate? Copy of anything? Show of anything? Trying to understand so please don't take questions wrong.

Did you pay the normal price for non immigrant visas x two?

No problem, i simply filled out the form in melbourne, paid the fee, and was issued 2x90 day entrys . No questions asked. I dont own anything in Thailand, no condo, wife or kids. I saw on the KL embassy website some requirements for a non imm "0", but unsure if they actually enforce it. My Brit friends here get 4x90 days from Hull, non imm "0", also no questions asked. Having booked my flight, I suppose i will ask them when i get there.

From Hull he got a "multi" entry visa valid for one year. They do not issue a 4 entry visa. The number of entries is unlimited during the one year validity of the visa and each entry you can stay up to 90 days.

You will not obtain such a visa closer than OZ. Perth and Brisbane are the normal recommendations.

Ok and thanks, I thought this would be simple. So from KL i should be able to get a "free" 60 day tourist visa. That will do me till i go back to AU for a visit.

Note that a tourist visa can be extended by immigration in Thailand for 30 days, for 1,900 baht and a photo.
