Hello,

I'm a British national seeking advice about a holiday visa for my wife and recently born daughter to visit the UK.

I live with my wife and daughter here in Thailand and have done so for 18 months. Our daughter is 2 months old and ideally I would like for them to come to the UK with me in October for a 2 week visit. All 3 of us would leave and return to Thailand together.

We live here in rented accommodation, I work here but I'm still waiting for my work permit- my school is very slow at arranging this.

The problem is being able to sponsor them. I would like to know if my parents would be able to sponsor my wife and their granddaughters visit. We will not be applying for a British passport for my daughter yet, as it will be too time consuming to arrange before we wish to travel.

We would be staying with my parents at their home. They would be able to provide the necessary documents to sponsor my wife and daughter- invitation, home ownership, bank statements etc.

I'm also unsure what type of visas they would both need for a 2 week visit. Would it be a tourist or family visit?

SO....Has anyone out there been in a similar situation and had success? I don't wish to have them refused. I am aware it's an awkward situation, so if it looks bleak, I would have to go back alone this time. icon_frown.gif A shame really as my parents are eager to see their daughter in law and granddaughter in the flesh, rather than on the web cam!
