Change In Social Security Contributions

Featured Replies

Sorry mods, I know it should be in a different forum but there have recently been posts from people here who use lawyers to handle all paperwork and have obviously been ripped-off by the lawyers and outside accountants.

They should be advised that as of 01.Jul.'09 until 31.Dec.'09 the contributions to the social security fund have been reduced from 5% down to 3% for the employee and employer portion.

Accordingly the lawyers and accountants should reduce their charge.

Here is a copy of the notification from the SSO (sorry it's only in Thai):

Thanks for your information Opalhort. Maybe you can also post this in the business section.

Had the same letter just this week!

Still capped at 1500 Baht though for the higher salaries....

Does that mean that social payments made in July (due before 10th of the month?) should be at the 3% rate? My accounting firm charged me at the 5% rate!

No!

Payment made in July before 15.07.09 were for the dues of June.

The next six payments are at 3%
