Korean man sentenced to 25 years in jail for killing Thai girlfriend

BANGKOK: -- The South Bangkok Criminal Court Wednesday sentenced a Korean man to 25 years and nine months in jail after he pleaded guilty in killing his Thai girlfriend while he was high on methamphetamine on October 31 last year.

The court initially handed down a life sentence on Lee Woo Hun, 29, but commuted the jail term after he pleaded guilt in killing Titima Sritula, 35, at the balcony of his room on the State Tower in Silom.

He was found naked with blood on over his body.

The blood came from the body of Titima who was hit and hacked to death with a sword and wooden stick.

The Korean man has also paid a compensation of Bt400,000 to the father of Titima.

Don't know if Thailand/S. Korea have a prisoners exchange agreement.

In case he might have a good chance and going home after serving 8 years...

With those prisoner exchange programs I am fairly sure that Prisoners can 'apply' after 8 years, but then the paperwork begins and its a long process. From what I have heard about prisoners generally do alot more time than that before all the paperwork appears in one spot and is processed.

I disagree with it, if you break the law here, why should the tax payers back home fork out for you to be transferred to one of their own prisons?
