Shipping A Car From Japan To Thailand

Featured Replies

I was browsing the net looking for a new car when i stumbled onto tradecarview.com. I made an inquiry to a dealer for a new Toyota Vanguard and used New beetle and was quoted: $25,000. I emailed them back and they said that it included shipping, tax and everything and would be shipped to leam chabang. Does this sound correct to you? Has anyone had any experience in importing a car from Japan to Thailand? It sounds to good to be true. What about registering the car in Thailand? How much will that cost? PLease can someone advice me............

Every request that I have seen similar to yours always has the same answer... The import taxes on an automobile will drive up to costs to an obscene amount. Why not buy a car in country?

Hi

You know what they say if things 'sound to good to be true'

I would cross examine the firm to see exactly what side 'of the water' they will include taxes in their price. I must say (to be fair) my only experience has been gleaned from

hundereds of posts here on Import subjects over the years , but I suggest to you that Thai Customs seem to be unreliable and corrupt so you are likely to regret this

transaction, if you decide to go ahead with it.

Good Luck, cos you will need it by the 'boatload'

:)
