30 Day Stamp From Poi Pet

Featured Replies

Hello everyone

I am new to this stuff as I have always been on a non-immigrant B and work permit until now.

I lost my Non-B and work permit when I left the country without realizing that my last visa was not multiple-entry. Then I left the country, paid a hefty overstay, and got the 30-day stamp on re-entry. The company I plan to work for tells me that if I have more than 21 days left on that stamp that they can apply for a Non-immigrnt B from withn the country. Now there is less than that left on the stamp.

So the question is this:

If I make a border run to Poi Pet in Cambodia, will I get 30-day stamp on re-entry? Or will it only be 15 days? And if I do, is it true that the company I intend to work for can obtain a Non-immigrant B from this?

I would have thought I need to either get a 60-day Tourist Visa or a Non-Immigrant B at the consulate in Vientiane (with the proper paperwork).

Can anyone clear this up?

Thanks,

Michael

You will only get a 15 day stay at the border. As you said you need at least 21 days to convert. You need a Visa obtained from a Consulate. That site you linked to is 2 years old.

Thanks, will do a proper Visa trip to Vientiane for Non-immigrant B then.

Cheers

Besure you have your work permit application receipt as well as the normal company paperwork.
