Pages Wont Load

Featured Replies

Hi fellas, I am not a complete technophobe but I have a question for you techies out there. My internet drops in and out occasionally, but what could be causing my pages not to load or if they do it take about 5 minutes (tried 3 different browsers) but I can still maintain a connection with (albeit a bad one) my VOIP services such as skype and Google talk etc. Reason I ask is that I've had the internet boys round this morning checking it all out, told me there is nothing wrong with the internet and that I have a virus on my desk top as their notebook worked fine. After they left I tried it again and everything is fine. I'm pretty sure I don't have a virus, before I even called them I did all the relevant scans for virus/ spy ware etc so as not to waste anyone's time, and I don't surf for porn (well, not on this computer anyway!!!). Call me an old cynic but if they cant find anything wrong, they put it back on you. These were the 2 same guys who came round a few months ago and told me the problem was in the wiring in the house, when it wasn't as I had it checked out. Called them back a couple of weeks later and the same 2 guys managed to fix it that time.

Sorry, should have given you more specifics, using Maxnet premier up to 2 mb, located in Naklua, North Pattaya. Must be one of the few who has been relatively satisfied up to now with the connection, or at least when I have one!

I don't believe a virus on your computer caused this problem.

I'm sitting in an internet shop with an incredibly fast speed, but still surfing is not smooth and pages are dropping, and the net seems to freeze for a min or so every now and again.

Your problem sounds very similar to the one I have principally at the weekends and evenings too. I just found out it's because so many people in my block (150) use the 4gig service.

My guess is your server just has over capacity too and at peak times, you end up with the situation you have,ie, your connected, it sort of works, but not really.

So the engineers come along off peak, pronounce it fixed, it seems that way, but Come 10am Sat or sooner, well you know the rest.

Keep posting, I'd be interested to know.

Also do regular broadband speed tests from thai visa homepage, look down the links on the left hand side.
