Does My Kid Need A Visa

Featured Replies

My Thai wife (legal) and myself are currently in the UK. Nee on a 6 month Tourist.

Already been to Doctors who said all her medical treatment ffor baby birth etc will be covered as she is here as my Wife.

Question is... we are coming back to Thailand on the 20th November. (Baby due 20th October) Will the baby need an 'O' visa the same as myself and will she need to do the 90 day runs to Cambodia?

On our return we intend applying for a settlement Visa for Nee and returning permanently to the UK as soon as possible.

We do not intend applying for a Thai passport for the baby as the reason we are in the UK is to have the baby born here with a full British passport and Thai Law does not allow dual nationality.

Advice welcomed and appreciated.

Thai Law does not forbid Dual Nationality. Many Thais have dual nationality. Do the child a favour and get him/her 2 passports.

If the Child only has a UK Passport he/she will need a Tourist Visa to enter. Children are not fined or deported for overstay so no need to do border runs.

Getting the child a Thai Passport will make things a lot easier.

Moved to Thai Visas.

Register the birt also at the Thai embassy and apply for a passport for the child, will save you a lot of trouble.
