Ponbkk
I have found numerous web references to obtaining a Thai driver's license. I have some specific questions that I hope those with specific experience will answer. One web site is: http://driving.information.in.th/thai-dmv.html I have an O-A 1-year visa. I am a condo owner. What will suffice for residency? Will my blue "housing certificate" suffice? What stamps must I have on this certificate? Will I have to bring all the documents regarding my purchase? Which documents? Tor Tor III's? Do I still need to go to the US Embassy in order to obtain the documentation of residency? MUST I have an International Permit or will my U.S.A. state license suffice? Can I get the medical certificate at BNH? What, specifically, do I ask for at the front reception? I am in Sathorn District. MUST I go to the district office listed ... Bangkok Area 1:Soi Wat Hua Krabu at km 4.5, Bangkunthian Thaithalae, Thakarm, Bangkhunthien district, Bangkok 10150 Covers the districts: Bangkhunthian, Bang bon, Jomthong, Thonburi, Klongsarn, Radburana, Thungkru, Bangkolaem, Yannawa and Sathorn. I hope this isn't across the river from sathorn/rama 4! Or may I go to the main office listed: Head office1032 Phaholyothin Road Lardyao, Chatuchak district. tel: 02-272-5322, 02-272-5493. Phaholyothin near where? Cross street (does anyone EVER give 'cross streets' in Thailand, I sometimes wonder)? Thanks to all that can make the trip to the DL bureau efficient for me. opalhort
I hope this isn't across the river from sathorn/rama 4! Yes it is across the river but easy to get to. Expressway across the Rama IX bridge to Dao Khanong then about 5Km along Rama II road, left turn just before BigC and about 10Km to the office. The are very efficient and fast and not too busy. I live in Tungkruh and also have to go there. opalhort
