July 30, 200916 yr The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is warning people that alcohol-based hand gel used to kill germs remains inflammable until it dries. Hand gel is 70% alcohol, a highly inflammable substance, FDA secretary-general Dr Pipat Yingseree said on Thursday. August 2, 200916 yr Hand gel with 70% alcohol is normal throughout most of the travel industry now. The advantage with the alcohol is not only the disinfective, but also the fact that it evaporate from the hands almost instantly. So unless one uses a lighter at the exact same time, its not a problem.
