Ladyboy accused of stealing tourist’s phone

At 5a.m on Friday, Pattaya Police received a call that a lady boy had stolen a mobile phone and had been caught by a foreigner at the entrance to Soi 12, off Pattaya beach road.

Upon arrival, the Police found a lady boy named Daroon Sukom, aged 24, and the Motorola mobile phone belonging to Mr. Jean-Claude Hacbart, aged 65, from Belgium. The victim told the officers that as he was walking, he was approached by the offender, who offered him sexual services. He tried to walk away, but the man tried to hold on to him, and suddenly grabbed his cell phone from inside his trousers’ pocket. Once he realized he was being robbed, he nabbed the would-be thief. At this point, the lady boy threw the cell phone into a flower pot by the road, and then Police were called.

After the suspect had been arrested, he started to cry and asked for the victim’s mercy. The ladyboy told the Police that there was a Thai woman in his gang, who had fled the scene and left him behind. Compassion was given a deaf ear and the ladyboy was taken away for further investigation.
