Tot Platinum Vs Gold

Featured Replies

I have TOT Platinum at the moment for 590b per month.

When it works I am happy with the speeds (within Thailand), however latency often varies wildly and dropped packets < 5% are the norm. SNR etc.. are very good so presumably a network issue.

I was wondering if I upgrade to Gold at 1000b per month will this just increase my sync speed or does the traffic from gold customers get better priority on the network as well?

Also, if I buy a UPS for laptop, and modem will this keep the internet on in a power outage or is the infrasturcture not UPS protected as well.

Platinum is under gold ??

TOT need to study which metals have more value.

Gold eh? grand a month ....what is DL UL?

Also there is 'diamond' 4MB/512 at 790 + vat. I signed up for platinum but must admit didn't hear about 'gold'. Yes Platinum does drop off on DL very peak times 7-12PM (internationally not to BKK) but other that that fine and UL high and consistent all the time ...works for me :)

Don't you mean you upgraded from Gold 2mb to Platinum 3mb for free, or same cost as Gold. 590bht

As I just upgraded last week from Gold 2mb to Platinum 3mb.

After this you can opt for Diamond 4m at a cost of 790bht

Well got platinum yesterday and it does seem marginally better but as noted above Int sites are slow in evening almost too slow to get radio stations let aloneUtube etc

My v jolly engineer changed sprint box brought own laptop as he thought touching an Aplple Mac may change him into a cheese eating Falang!

I offered water and soda as it was siesta time and too hot for ale

My dear wife suggested acool beer an opening gambit to which I very sauve subtle and expereienced negotiator mentioned whishky

Mrs tight purse mentioned Sangsom and some village LaoCao while I could see Khun Pongy (not his real name) was gazing at the black label and infamous Grouse from the higher perches.

He is a endless cheerful man with apaunch a cross between Benny Hill Molly Meldrew and Peter Ustinov who has never allowed official duties to interfere with sex and drink and rock and roll and would be more entertaining than the internet in small doses!

In then proferred him 100 pipers as I presented the unopened box I asked my wife to say it was just a box no bottle

Totally unfazed he took the FULL present in the certain knowledge that my snail mail speed is at his discretion and he and the bos will return for free lunch and drinks should there ever be net problem ever again ...!!

However despite signing something Madame assures me we are still on 590 pcm for platinum 3MB

PS Even Pongy had to have giggle when we did the actual speed est to TOTs prefered test 42 and 510 but double last weeks 0.19 etc

Why would you want a UPS for a laptop (other than extra surge protection)? Your laptop should have it's own battery. UPS for the modem is a good idea.
