Electrical Problem

I've got a short in the wiring of my old (late 90s) Nissan Urvan that causes the battery to discharge. The vehicle useta be a BMTA minivan and has lots of wires as in individual AC and reading lamps at each seat and chasing the short will be a big job. Does anyone know of an car electrical shop in BKK that they can recommend for this type of work?

It's not a short. A short would blowing your fuses are melt the wirings.

There is a electrical leak, this mean something uses the electricity of your battery when the ignition is turned off.

So you have to find what is it. Disconnect the minus of your battery therminal and "hang" a checklight bwtween the therminal and the minus cable. So if the lamp is glimming, there is something whe "eats" the eletricity. Make sure everything is turned off and all the doors are closed. Plug out each fuse (one by one) and see when the glimming stops. So you can dieagnose the "leaking" curquit. Once you find the faulty cirquit, than it's easy to see what components are connected to that cirquit and you should be enable to elimintate the problem. Disconnect each component or relais who control each component and you'll find the problem.

thanks for the reply...I'll have another look meself when I'm at home again. There are a lot of messy wiring harnesses (from the extra accessories, no doubt) dangling under the dashboard by the steering wheel so I thought I'd just give the mess to a professional and let him sort it...labor is cheap in Thailand.
