I see lots of talk about marriage visas, but I'm in the difficult position of having worked under the table for the last several years so have no proof of income or substantial savings in banks. On top of that, in my 20's i had several drug related felonies (have been clean from dope for 8 years) My mother refuses to help with the sponsorship paper...

I was wondering what other options do I have?...

Also, is it easier to get a visa for her if we had a child together?

I was thinking about finding a company to hire her in the states. Is getting a work visa a difficult process in the states? What kind of hoops must a company jump through to get a poor Thai girl over to the States?

This girl is the real deal, just wants to work hard to support her family. She's had more than a few opportunities over the last 3 years to work in bars etc, but she's chosen to work her ass off instead at hair shops, guest houses, etc...

Any suggestions appreciated....

Tough as hel_l. http://www.workpermit.com/us/employee.htm#UScandH1B

Is it possible just to pay someone to get her in (legally, so she could work)? Or does anyone know about any sponsor services. How the heck do all these people get each other in here. I was in China town in NY and I swear they couldn't speak a lick of English. Where's the backdoor?

No offence but you have a no chance.

No history and no family ties.

Come back when you have enough money.

1) What if I had someone willing to co-sponsor?

2) Would the lack of MY tax returns and my criminal history automatically make it a no go?

3) What about if I had 3 years tax returns but still the criminal history?

I suggest visa journey and you can do it all for free. Having said that, you need to report your income for 2 years and make 125% poverty level (you'll find it all there in an easy to find format). Don't worry about the felonies but it may take up to a year or more (depending on if it's K-1 fiancee or K-3) K-1 fiancees typically are faster...from 4-14 months. In your case a record check will take some time so I'd bank on a year. They may or may not disclose this in the IMBRA part during her interview so make sure you tell her up front.

You only need to worry about sex crimes/registered offenders and violent crimes. If it's all drugs you should be OK (you can download the IMBRA form on the DHS or embassy website and see what it asks).

My suggestion:

go to meetings

go legit work wise

2 years of tax returns and apply. US Thailand consulate does not accept co-sponsors.
