As in someone who is always whinging, bitching or complaining? The word is บ่น (bon)

I don't want a girlfriend who is ขี้บ่น (kee bon - a complainer/whinger/nagger)

On a Thai soapie, I saw the angry businessman husband pick up the phone (it was his wife calling), and he said:

ยุ่งอะไรอีกล่ะเนี่ย

roughly "Why are you bothering me again?!!*!?"

the key word being ยุ่ง - to involve, to interfere.

I've also heard อย่ายุ่ง - "don't interfere", probably rather blunt and impolite.

๊้Uhm, never heard of jeck-jeck for this situation. The closest expression I can now think of is jun-jarn จุ้นจ้าน = mess up with or ยุ่ง (yung)

Dunno where it came from. Maybe a bastardisation of English slang Yak/Yakking ie talking alot..

But I agree with the previous posters .. Yoong ( ยุ่ง ) as in 'Ya Yoong' Don't bother me/ don't involve yourself

or I sometimes hear 'reung' (เรื่อง) as in 'reung mak' ....Long winded, difficult. troublesome as in the sense of a long story...

Hmm...my wife often says someone "yack yacks" here about something (connotation is normally tell her off/give her a bollocking). The only reference I can find to this in my dictionary is

ยักยี่ยักเหยา (yak*3 yee*2 yak*3 yao*4)

(*1 = low tone; *2 = falling tone; *3 = high tone; *4 = rising tone)

The dictionary indicates this is to pester somebody to give you something, which is slightly different from the way my wife uses it, but I think it may well be a collouqial abbreviation of this (I'll ask here when i get home, so long as shed doesn't yack yack me for being late again...

เรื่อง already carries the related meaning of a problem.

เกิดเรื่อง means 'a problem has arisen', and as well as เรื่องมาก, there is also มากเรื่อง, 'to intensify' in the sense of making things worse

For informal expression with "yor" I can think of

ยุ่งยิ่ง

Anyway it can be ้her personal expression.

Haha, that's why I love dictionaries!

The actual example given is

ยักยี่ยักเหยาจะเอาของนั้นให้ได้

though I'm not exactly sure of the translation (the dictionary merely says 'to pester someone for something').

I know little about Pattaya bar girls but would imagine they would understand, "ya jom"อย่าจ่ม.

There's a famous song called "Mao Pro Mia Jom" เมาเพราะเมียจ่ม Drunk because of a nagging wife, by Ponsak Songsaen which I bought.

Brilliant. This led me to แคะจมูก - to pick one's nose.

I can't believe I never knew how to say this before. What a gem!

BTW, for แคะไค้ my dictionary has 'to find fault with', 'to pick holes (in)' - a useful expression in itself, but not quite the same as how I use the word 'nagging' = persistently complaining about something. All the Thai people I've asked prefer some variation of บ่น but i still think the now derided 'bar-girl' expression 'yak-yak' is the only one that hits it square on the head (a couple of Thais I asked about 'yak-yak' looked at me in complete confusion - they're also not the sort that really know what a bar girl is, so this does give some credence to the theories espoused above that maybe 'yak-yak' is a borrowing from tourists)

There is a similar term with "แคะ", that is "ค่อนแคะ".

"ค่อนแคะ". - to carp at, to cavil at.

Other words which used in the meaning of 'nagging' are "จุกจิก, จู้จี้, จู้จี้จุกจิก, จุกจิกจู้จี้".

I ask my wife about jeck jeck, she told me its the same as you fuc_k me or your fuc_king me.

That is only true if you use the 'f' word to mean everything under the sun. 'Yek yek' does mean nag, but it isn't regular Thai, it's pidgin (contact language) from the bars and tourist industry.

Maybe she heard you wrong. The actual f word translated into Thai sounds the same, but ends with a silent 't' or 'd'.

I think this is what you might be hearing juk-jik จุกจิก

sometimes they use the phrase juk-jik juu-jee จุกจิกจู้จี้
