Speedtest Hutch Huawei Ec226 Usb Modem

Featured Replies

If not have a landline and use mobile as modem, here is a faster internet option.

Where: Hutch shop Pattaya Tai, near Tukcom.

Tested: Huawei EC226 EV-DO usb modem.

Speedtest.Thaivisa.com. Tested many times today 3-4pm.

Download: 500 - 1200kbps.

Upload: 86 - 107kbps.

Compared to use mobile as modem, Edge class 12.

Download: 83 - 119kbps.

Upload: 77 - 85kbps.

Options:

Pay 4.900

Contract 18 months.

Pay 999 monthly for unlimited use.

Work permit or a Thai person needed.

Pay 16.900

Including free unlimited use for 1 year.

They have a laptop with this usb modem for your testing.

I purchased the 16,900 baht prepaid plan with the Huawei EC226 EV-DO usb modem.

I connect to EVDO in Pathum Thani near Thammasat University.

Useing speedtest.thaivisa.com today, I recorded:

Download: 310kbps (38.8 KB/sec transfer rate)

Upload: 68kbps (8.5 KB/sec transfer rate)

I find this performance frankly horrendous. I find their promotion of this service as a 3.1Mbps utterly false.

Not reccommended.

So hutch finally offers EV-DO? That's cool. About time too.

I am a CAT CDMA user, will just wait until CAT takes over Hutch for good.

I'm using the same and get average download of 800kbps. Have been slower last 2 weeks though (+-500kbps). Compared with mobile /air card as option, I find Hutch to be 5 time faster (download speed). So I'm happy :)

Btw, they guarantee only 150kbps minimum on the papers I got when signing up. But I never seen slower than 300kbps download here.

@Smile4u

Is those speeds through an ADSL connection or are you saying you get that through a 3G modem??

Seems there is mismatch in download and upload speeds. Broadband for download, and dialup for upload... :D

You should see my Maxnet Indy VIP. One of the best.
