Adsl Coverage Koh Tao/phangan

Featured Replies

Hello,

I'm currently searching for a flat/bungalow in Koh Tao around the Sairee area for a long term lease (1 year+). My problem, however, is that I need ADSL connectivity from home. The speed itself is not too important - 512kbps+ will do. I know internet cafes and some of the bigger resorts have broadband already but is it available for home usage? Would anyone have any information on how feasable this is in Koh Tao? Failing this, what about Koh Phangan? Thanks in advance for any information anyone can provide.

Someone else may correct me for but for Koa Toa there is not any ADSL you would need to use TOT satellite.

You have been corrected.

Although there is no cable connection to the mainland there most definately is ADSL on Koh Tao however it is almost impossible to get a new connection. Waiting time is listed as up to 5 years and you need to be either Thai or at a minimum have a valid Work Permit.

Phangan is full covered by adsl by TTT, TOT, CAT.

I don't know if you can get it without a WP, but you can arrange a contract with your thai landlord/renter name

You might want to contact member Prasert! He knows more on internet in Koh Tao!

You can get ADSL2 in the Sairee area on Koh Tao.
