I am going to get this - new Time Capsure, this time with a reasonable price.

For BHT 11,000 you get:

- Wireless N router

- 1TB networked Hard disk (shared over WiFi)

- Wireless printer server (USB)

- Easy setup with excellent management software (Mac + Windows)

- Integrated backup with TimeMachine (Mac only)

- Great quality (hearsay)

I have been thinking about replacing my WiFi router with a good one, e.g. Wireless N and high performance so it doesn't die bit torrenting and such. I was going to get a 1TB or bigger external drive for backup, having kinda outgrown my mobile 500GB backup disks. And I find the prospect of wireless backup interesting - TimeMachine is the first solution seamless enough to make me actually back up all my stuff regularly, but having it wireless would be even better than plugging in the USB cable now and then.

I think for the same price you can get all these things individually - but not in Apple-like quality, more like the cheapest router with USB + the cheapest external HD. And not with the setup tools.

For mac users, this is a pretty amazing deal, I think. And thanks to the Apple online store Thailand, we don't get ripped off by the local dealers anymore - in days past, something specialized like this would have a 50% markup on the U.S. prices easily - now we don't pay a cent more. As it should be.

There's also a 2TB option but I don't quite understand why it would cost $200 more. Maybe 2TB disks are expensive?

Updated my 500GB Dual Wireless N time capsule myself with a 1.5TB drive. might be the cheaper option especially now the 500GB will be on sale / cheaper.

I like the Dual N and B/G wifi capability on 2 separate networks allow my PS3/iphone to connect to the 2.4ghz network while the laptops connect to the 5ghz network for maximum throughput.

Highly recommend the time capsule. No point going for the airport extreme when a little bit more cash gets you the time capsule.
