My question is this, If I was in Thailand on a 3 month "O" visa and applied for a retirement (A visa) extension, can I get a medical certificate in Thailand or do I have to supply one from an American doctor. I'm not too concerned about having a full check-up as I have not needed to visit a doctor for over 20 years. Getting a medical certificate here in the US is such a hassle. My doctor wanted me to take a number of tests which take time to set up and not all covered by my medical insurance and I am ready to take off to Thailand in 2/3 weeks. Most doctors will fill the form out after asking just a few questions.. There's another type of med cert. this one to use to get an extension because you can't physically return to your home country because of a medical problem.. I'm OK s long as they don't do a blood test. That would stretch my credibility a bit. Here is a link to the Med form for a Visa. Thailand has a number of med forms like for Drivers Lic etc but here is the link that I doubled checked a couple of different Royal Thai Counsel sites and is the same form that was required for the App submitted in the Honolulu office. http://www.thai-la.net/visa/medcert.doc It was also the same for from a site in Thailand. I know it is not much of a hassle to get one.I was just curious and I forgot to ask her what the reason was.I have now moved to Nong Khai.So I probably won't extend in Bangkok. It is the same for DL as immi. got mi on Soi 11 for 150Baht yesterday and turned in in today whilst getting my DL at Suk 99 Transport office. I'll get the DL info up later.. I have a retirement visa for 3 years now and have never been asked for a medical certificate. I just renewed my visa in Bangkok, no question about this, just a quick remark: you look healthy. 3 friends of mine renewed their retirement visas in Mukdahan this Monday, also no question about medical certificate.
