August 14, 200916 yr Luangpor Khoon administered anti-A (H1N1) flu Nakhon Ratchasisma - Doctors administered two types of anti-viral drug for much-revered Luangpor Khoon Parisutho after he had symptoms of type-A (H1N1) influenza. Doctors administered both oseltamvir and zanamivir and anti-biotic to the monk through intravenous feeds. The monk was rushed to the Maharaj Nakhon Ratchasima Hospital Thursday afternoon. He had high fever and vomited Thursday evening. Since he had visited a lot of followers, doctors suspected that the monk had contacted type-A (H1N1) virus. Doctor Pinijjai Nakhphan, a cardiologist of the hospital, said Friday morning that the monk responded very well to the anti-viral drug and the fever subsided. The monk will remain in the hospital under close watch of doctors for five more days, Pinijjai said. The Nation (dated 14 Aug 09)
