Extension Of Visa

Featured Replies

Goodmorning,

My Thai sister in law has the Brithish nationality but is also still a Thai. Just before she visit us she lost her British passport and also from her kids. So she has new passports whitout a visa from the Thai emb in London. When she arrived they give her a tourist vis for 30 days. We went to the NE region immigration in Korat for an extension and they give her a visa for one year but with the visa's from the kids they didn't do nothing. She asked what happend when she leave the country with the kids who didn't have a visa. The officer told her that she do not have to worry becaus the immigration do not charge kids under the age of 15 years. At home whe try to find the rules about this on the website of immigration but we can not find some. Is anybody farmiliar with this?

Gerard

Yes. Children do not get fined for overstay but they will probably get a stamp in the passport.

If she is Thai why does she not get a Thai Passport then she does not have to bother about Visas. Same for the children if they are Thai.

If she/they are Thai they do not need visas/passports to stay in Thailand. They should go to their local registration office and get Thai IDs.
