Non-immigrant Business Visa

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I will soon be moving to Asia and will become a regular business traveller to Thailand.

Could anyone please help me and summarise what information is required to submit a non-immigrant B visa application?

Also, would anyone know how long these things take to process if applying in person in London?

Many thanks, JSW

I suggest you contact the consulate in Hull about getting your visa. You probably will never get the visa in London.

Hull does mail in applications and turns them around the same day they get them.

Is the company registered in Thailand?

If not, no non immigrant B visa.

That is not needed unless you are going to work in Thailand. For a B visa to make business trips all that is normally needed is a letter from the company you are working for. I have gotten them before with nothing more than a letter.

Depending on what exactly you are doing workwise, you may also need a work permit to work legally in Thailand. That would need a Thai company to 'sponsor' the application. Just attending business meetings you should be ok.

Thanks, answers are as follows;

Yes, the company is registerd in Thailand (its a very large International company)

Yes, the nature of my business is just to attend meetings in Thailand.

It seems that just a letter from my company and applying via Hull may be the answer then, I will give them a call.

Thanks all, JSW

Hull consulate are very efficient and flexible. I would be surprised if you need more than just a letter of invitation from the Thai company to get Non-B visa. You can apply by post; the consulate usually turn round visa applications on the day of receipt. Use Special Delivery mail to send your paperwork to the consulate and pop a pre-paid Special Delivery envelope inside with your application for Hull to use to send your passport back to you.
